Bankruptcy Update

As part of the bankruptcy process, Humboldt Creamery will file a motion with the bankruptcy court to approve the sale to Foster Farms, or an overbidder, for the core Humboldt Creamery business and to the highest bidder of the three qualified bidders for the Los Angeles facility. The auction is today, August 11th, 2009 and the hearing will follow tomorrow, August 12, 2009. Humboldt Creamery expects the sale process to be complete on August 25, 2009.

Humboldt Creamery filed for bankruptcy protection on April 21, 2009 shortly after it discovered the company’s impaired financial condition following the sudden resignation of its former CEO, Rich Ghilarducci.
